Easy to install. Seems to work well. Especially if you do the "cleaning " cycle as directed. Only complaint is that with the zeolite tank being inside the case it takes some work to ensure the salt pellets are evenly distributed behind the tank.

My GE water softener is total junk ! Didn™™t last but 11 months. They sent me out an electric monitor that didn™™t fix the problem. So then they sent me a whole new unit to replace mine since I™™m still within the warranty. They would NOT cover the install/labor on the new unit. So I had to pay a plumber to install the first one and when it needed replacing because it™™s defective, I had to pay a plumber again to install this one. When I called to complain they said they would cover parts that need to be replaced but not the whole unit. So I initially paid a plumber twice under one years time for this water softener. That™™s absolutely ridiculous. I will never buy another GE product again. Make sure to check the warranty coverage and understand what you™™re getting. Very unhappy with this product. If this one doesn™™t last a year then I will just toss it out the door cuz I don™™t even want another one from GE. What a joke!!

In a year and a half I have had to call due to error codes three times. Design of this product has to be the issue, as there's no other reason for it to quit working every six months, with no discernable reason.

We have enjoyed or last GE water softener, which lasted 4 years with very little maintenance. Now with more education this one should last longer. Also, purchased the extended warranty which gives additional peace of mind. Price and service with the shopping assistant was great and made the experience very easy and quick. Shipping was fast at 4 days and installation was smooth and install instructions were clear. No leaks during or after install and the softener is working well. Will monitor over the next couple of days.

Installation very east. The engineers did change. The connection to the bypass valve to a threaded connection. This changed the overall height of the inflow / outflow from the previous equipment (same exact GE model) I had.

Extremely happy with this GE Water Softener Appliance. The regeneration cycle is very quiet. I chose the GE Water Softener because it uses less salt and that makes it very efficient and convenient. This unit replaces a GE Water softener that I was very, very happy with for 18 years until it wore out and needed to be retired.

Installation was fairly easy. You can buy the premade hoses at the big box store that connects to copper PVC or pex which makes it fairly easy to install. Follow the instructions on programming which is fairly easy and you™™re up and running.

Three months have elapsed since installation by qualified handyman which took approximately 2.5 hours with no problems. No leaks or issues so far. Perfect capacity for our family of two. I added first refill of salt, 40lb/bag to line #5 noted on inside yielding next change in 4.5 months or 135 days to add salt. Install charge extremely reasonable at $200 with $50 added for GE Whole House filter install as well. Softens water wonderfully & works as it should including the digital controller. Hoping to get a good 10 years out of this appliance. Very good appliance so far. Easy install. It can easily handle family of three. Luck to all. p. s., bought it through Wayfair; good price.

Main board was replaced 2 years ago for $280. It just went out again and I was quoted another $280 to replace it. It a basic circuit board worth about $35. This is a defective product and GE service was no help. I don't recommend purchasing it.

The unit worked well for the last few years but is displaying an L50 error message that cannot be reset. Apparently, it means the control board got wet somehow. There is no indication of water or water marks on the outside or around the unit. I am disgusted with GE that they are charging $400 for the replacement board when the unit costs $500.

I just replaced my previous GE water softener with this new water softener. My other one never gave me any issues so I™™m sticking with GE. I love the wide opening and slightly shorter body which makes it easier to add my salt pellets. In no time at all I had soft water again.

So far so good! Took a little while to get the product but the installation was smooth. We were able to hook it up with our existing plumbing which was a major concern. The programming of the unit was seamless and the fact you can select your water softness level is a great feature. In addition, it tells you how many days you have left with the salt balance, Just as described, it took about 48 - 72 hours for it to "kick in". We'd recommend this product.

Exact replacement for unit purchased 11 years ago. Operated flawlesly until catastophic control head lock up during regeneration, In my opinion that is excellent product performance, the water flow turbine was non existent it lost all blades down to hub, needs material improvement, suggest upgrade to micro thin stainless

We are just a family of 2 people and found this softener to be perfect for us! With in 2 days, I noticed how slick our shower walls became and had to purchase a shower nonslip mat to stay safe without the hard water stains! Easy to install works great. Have really hard water the hard mineral deposits completely covered dishwasher heating element after installation this cleaned dissolved it off not sure how....also shower heads mineral deposits gone..
Only thing I have is the float system get mineral build up and foam float breaks down easy. Prob something I'm doing wroung but works great

This is the second GE Water Softener we have purchased. We decided to get the very same product since we loved the one we had installed 13 years ago. We were told it would be good for at least 10 years, and it lasted 13 years! In fact, it was still giving us soft water, but the electronic panel board was going, so we decided it was time. The new water softener has added features that we love. Good product.

This is our second GE Water Softener. Even though the first one only lasted 5 years, we opted to get the same model to facilitate installation. So far, we are very pleased with the water softener and hope it lasts longer than 5 years this time.
Downside is being unable to repair or replace the ion bed on the unit. It would be more practical and environmentally friendly than having to throw away the entire unit.

Excellent price. So far so good. However I don™™t recall seeing anything about optional parts necessary to install it. Included were clips and O-rings to attach the bypass to the valve outlet and inlet but no thread installation adapters and O-rings were included to attach the bypass to the waterlines. Luckily I was able to attach it my exiting bypass that was still in good condition and it was compatible with the new valve. Wheeew. The plumber was in the middle of installing it when we discoverer that it required these additional parts. If I wasn™™t able to use my existing parts the plumber would have had to make another service call and it would have cost me more.
