This is not the stove for cooks who use large pots or their favourite iron skillets, who are looking for consistent heat, and who don't want to constantly recalibrate the oven in order to bake bread, cakes, roast chickens etc. The basic GE electric coil stove was recommended by my repair man as the stove he repairs the least often. Unfortunately, GE has meddled with the extremely reliable coil burners, and as a safety feature to protect you from yourself, has put sensors in the middle of the coils. These cycle the water down if your deep canning bath actually approaches boiling temperature. I tried for 2.5 hours to do a ten minute boiling water bath of jelly. Because most water bath pots do not have completely flat surfaces, the sensor can't read it and stops at about 208F. Also, unless your iron skillet is perfectly flat, the sensor will nervously turn the burner up and down for that as well.
The oven is very large, which is great, and so is the storage drawer underneath. But the oven itself is easily 50 degrees off. Set it to 350, but it never gets above 300. To bake sourdough at 450, and hope for the best if you try to compensate by setting the oven at 475.
I'm heading back to Lowes today to see if another brand has left the old fashioned, non-sensored burners intact, and will be returning this stove.

The GE range I purchased was a complete disappointment. The burners had problems from the beginning, the warranty never solved the issue, and I ended up replacing it with a Frigidaire after just over a year. I won™™t be purchasing GE appliances again

Poor quality workmanship and quality control. This was a replacement of another range of the same make and model that I bought last week. I had to return that one because on the second day of use (first day using the oven), the oven door came off almost falling on my foot. We thought it was just a defective item. When the replacement came, it came with a large dent on the oven handle, but we needed a replacement so we agreed to take it at a discount. That afternoon, as we were cooking dinner, I noticed an insulated wire on the side sticking out and being crimped back in. I called Home Depot to come and pick it up right away because it was a safety hazard. I went back to Home Depot to pick up another make and model.

I like my new range so far. It's very very similar to my previous Whirlpool range of 30 years which took a turn. Only thing is the large burners do not sit flush and flat with the stove top and wiggle. The small burners are tight and sit flush. One small burner, front left does not heat up as fast as the others. It's a day old so I'll be calling service. Otherwise I like it. Simple and it will serve our needs. Thank you.

I really like the look of the product. I don™™t like that the brackets under the heating element on the stove turned a different color after one use of the stove. I mentioned this to the Lowe™™s rep and he stated that this happened because it !s stainless steel (maybe you should consider a different material for this). Like the safety feature for the stove but our stove did not appear to be working effectively in ref to this feature.

I regret ever buying this stove. The sensi-temp controls make cooking an unpleasant task and causing additional time to prepare meals. If you need to bring a large pan of water to a rolling boil forget it. There goes my hot water bath canning which requires a constant boiling temp. Surely a different approach to safety can be accomplished!

I paid full price and expect the full manual, in print, with troubleshooting. Instead, this seems to have fallen to the wayside in favor of planned obsolescence™"so that they can upcharge for the extended warranty. Also the burners are essentially on high at 2 out of 10 already. If that can be changed, I wouldn't know because troubleshooting wasn't provided.

the coils heat up very quickly and adjust quickly; for this reason, I'm very glad I switched back from flat/glass top to coils. The oven also heats quickly and holds the set temperature.

Product is good Don't like the fit of the bottom drawer, could close with less gap, looks stupid, other ranges DON'T have this problem, Wish it came with manual !!!! I KNOW go online and down load. Need to print it off and spend MY money not yours on paper AND ink ! Really you can't supply one ?? Already spent ALOT of money. What about people who don't have OR use a computer? Think outside the box.... If you REALLY cared you would supply one. You say no one else does - not an excuse "If they do it we can " Over kill on the no tip attachment, the last one I had on the old one worked fine. Looks like you spent extra money on overkill. The first stove that delivered on March 7 started electrical fire. The Electrical Inspector for the town determined that the stove was the issue drawn too much. The appliance store we purchased through immediately brought us a new stove, but we did not install it yet. After the electrician replaced all the wiring and plug, followed by wall repair, the appliance store installed the second stove.
The stove does perform well. Fingers crossed that the issue with the first one was a fluke.

I like that the controls are on the back of the range making harder for smaller children to reach. The oven is very large and can hold various sized dishes and pans. The oven preheats relatively quick.

Ater installation, I discovered that there were no written instructions on how to use this product. I had to figured it out myself and most of what I did was wrong. This is my first electronic appliance. Maybe I can find some operational instructions online.

Overall we like the oven. Still learning how to adjust timing of certain food dishes in the oven, they seem to take longer than my previous GE stove. One other issue is the stovetop elements cycle down and the temperature is not consistent. Other than that, the oven gets the job done.

This General Electric did not come with instructions how to set timer. The timer only goes up to 9 minutes I don™™t like that. I just baked some corn muffins. That worked fine. It has a light on the stove to put on oven light it doesn™™t automatically come on and off I don™™t like that I have to turn it on and off as needed.im disappointed with this stove I will give a rating if 3. Needs improvement.

Perfect stove for its price range. It heats evenly, burners automatically lower temp if left on high. It looks nice. The porcelain top on my stove was bent during delivery. GE sent a repairman and issue was fixed.

I love my GE electric range. The stove top is very easy to clean. I haven't used the self-cleaning on the oven yet. The capacity size is great for storing my pots and skillets. I had to go online to print a copy of the User Guide. It didn't come with the Range. The heating elements are better. Overall, it seems to be a good Range.

Oven Light placement needs to be located more towards the center for proper lighting.

Like the safety oven holder in the rear for preventing of tipping.

Turkey turned out horrible but I reread the instructions tried a turkey at Christmas it was the best turkey i had ever baked and I baked two year for 30 years so it was good the baking I do it better moisture is better for some reason I gave one star

It's nice and white, has a bright panel to read time or temperature. The bottom draw dose NOT have sufficient room for what my last GE was capable of storing.... this was a disappointment! Also, the bottom drawer does not have a center guide to keep the drawer in place when pulled out, it falls on the floor and then goes sideways when trying to shut it. Also, one of the metal safety centers of the large plate on top turned from a silver to a copper color after a few uses and now does not match the others. The range is cooking (so far) as it should and that's good (since that is what it is meant to do.) But, it is definitely not made as "heavy and durable" as my last GE Range/Oven. A little disappointed for the money we spent to purchase it. Hope it lasts a long time! Have not tried the self cleaning yet. The controls are fine so far.

I hated to retire my 31-year old GE range, but the electronics for the oven were not dependable and parts were not available to fix the problem. I decided to purchase a similar GE range and so far it seems to function okay, but the design leaves a bit to be desired. The bottom drawer is flimsy compared to my other range and there is no lip to put your fingers into to open the drawer. The new drawer requires you to stick your fingers into the top of the drawer which is under the oven door and concealed by the door. The back of the stove is not flat like my old stove. I used to keep my salt and pepper there. I can still use the back of the stove for that purpose, but there is always the risk that the salt and pepper shakers may slide down the curved back. The knobs protrude from the flat surface of the back of the stove. My old stove's knobs were slightly recessed. My old oven had its own knob. The new oven is completely controlled by electronics. I'm sure this new range will not last 31 years because manufacturers wouldn't be able to stay in business if their products lasted a long period of time.. I would love to see appliances made without all the bells and whistles manufacturers seem to think we need. Older customers, such as myself, just want a quality product that they can understand without a lot of research in how to operate it. Why can't we return to that?
