This washer tangles clothes like I have never seen before in all my 40 years of clothes washers. I attempted all settings and still the bottom agitator or the tub cycles bind up pants, long sleeve shirts. Also, the accompanying dryer is not effective either. It does not dry well or detangle

Nice, but difficult drawer removal

Love the color, capacity and efficiency, but the dispenser drawer is incredibly difficult to remove. Already broke after the first attempt. Difficult fix as well, since it was the track that broke not the drawer. Also the drawers do not fully drain so thick residue from detergents and stuff just sit in there. I™€™ve only had it a couple months so I™€™m sure it™€™s not just so dirty that it can™€™t drain properly, other than those complaints I do like it.

Tub balance is a major problem

I appreciate the options & features of this appliance. However, a MAJOR hiccup is that the tub balancing mechanism is very problematic for anything of significant size/weight or even washing just a few small items. The unit is EASILY & FREQUENTLY off balance - it shakes & rattles & moves across my laundry room floor, then goes into pause mode when the soaking wet (sometimes very heavy - envision comforters, coats, towels) have to be manually redistributed/positioned in the tub. It is a very annoying & a too often occurring event.

Terrible Washer and Dryer - Would Avoid

Biggest waste of money, I went in a for a speed queen and the sales guy talked me out of it because of capacity concerns and convinced me to get this expensive hunk of junk. Not even 8 months and it broke down, I™€™ve been without a washer for 6 weeks because the technician they keep sending can™€™t fix it but wants to keep trying so every failed attempt means I wait 2 weeks for the next parts to come in. The dryer they comes with it is awful too, clothes is always wet after compared to an old $200 dryer we had.

HORRIBLE GE PROFILE 5.3 WASHING MACINE DO NOT BUY

This is the worse washing machine I have ever owned. I bought this in January 2025 and in May it broke. They sent their tech out and he ordered parts. 3 weeks later he fixed the machine. Now in August it broke again. They sent the same tech out and he informed me that it is the same problem as before and now it also needs the main board replaced. Customer Relation offered me a discount on an extended warranty (on an item that does not work), discount on my next major appliance purchase and a $50.00 gift card for my laundry service. All a joke. I would NEVER recommend this or any GE products to my family or friends. Customer Relation is a complete joke. The machine goes into sensing mode, locks and unlocks lid and NEVER fills with water.

So Disappointed in the product and the service!

We bought the largest capacity washer, thinking it could handle whatever we needed. First, it always gets imbalanced on the towel/sheets cycle with 1 king size sheet set, so we were advised to run it on bulky. I ran the set on bulky, came home to everything tangled around the agitator, soaking wet and had to redistribute and run a drain and spin. Even though this washer has a large drum it cannot handle large loads without getting out of balance. To make matters worse I have spent 2 weeks trying to get a service call, but GE doesn't have anyone in my area; "the locater team is working on it". If I had known I could not get warranty service I would not have purchased GE

Great looking washer. Does the job that it™€™s supposed to do. However, it can get noisy when it doesn™€™t balance the weight, but that could be a user problem. The custom cycles are great, and it™€™s very easy to understand how to use the controls. It has a very spacious tub which makes doing blankets and rugs and anything else very easy.

So for so good! Replaced a 24 yo Maytag washer with agitator. Much quieter and uses less water for a powerful clean. Using the smart wash setting, I was able to remove set in stains from clothing that my Maytag could not get out! WOW!

Horrible Noise Initially - Failed at 6 months

Purchased the PTW805BPWRS washing machine on 01/25 and from the beginning, it made horrific noises like gears were slipping with anything larger than a small load. I sent a video to GE asking if this was normal and no one ever contacted me about it. Three weeks ago, it stopped working altogether. Their Bodeman repairman came and said it was the motor and possibly the transmission. I was told by the repairman that I was responsible for disconnecting the dryer and getting the dryer out of his way before he comes for the repair. He told me he would not do the repair if that was not done. He also told me that he was not responsible for the washing machine drip pan. If my washer is under warranty (which it is) I don't think I should have to be inconvenienced by this at all. I am not a professional installer. After the repairman left, I called customer service at GE to request a replacement since I don't think you should have to gut the insides of your machine at 6 months of light use (we've been away a lot). However, they refused saying that their warranty only covers replacement if the machine is not repairable. I told them it never sounded good from the beginning and that I had video. However, they had no interest in me sending the video and said they had no way to know what it sounded like before it broke. I have total regrets in buying this washing machine and will never ever buy another GE product. I will be sure to not recommend it to friends and family as well. I fear it will break down again and it will be just out of warranty and NO I will NOT be purchasing a useless extended warranty.

I™€™ve had this washer for years. It™€™s the worse machine I have ever had to date. It worked fine until September. One of the system boards went out it took until December to get it fixed. It worked for a month and went out again. After another repair it went out again yesterday. I would never buy another GE again.

The worst washer I™€™ve ever owned. It never puts enough water in unless I use the bulky setting. If I use any other setting, it barely gets the clothes wet and throws them all to one side so that the barrel bangs the sides. Then I have to pause it and redistribute the clothes so it will spin. This is the first washer I™€™ve had that I have to babysit. Can™€™t wait to get rid of it and I have only had it for a few months.
