Not only does our new Speed Queen wash the clothes quickly, and extremely well, but because the spin cycle works so effectively, the clothes are "almost" dry when the cycle is complete, and the actual time required in the dryer is much less.

My two down sides are the end chime is not loud enough for me to hear it. The biggest down side was the mount of time it took to get it. The dealer had the T5 but not the T7 which is the one we wanted. It took a month to get it. I could still use my old washer, but it would take 3-4 hours to wash one load due to broken rods for balancing. In addition the numerous restarts of different cycles caused our water bill to be higher. Hence the need to get it quickly.

We've had the speed queen for a few months now and I've been very pleased with it so far. It's much quieter than my old machine which I love. Its cleaning power is excellent as well. I previously owned a Whirlpool front loader, no agitator. I received a recommendation to purchase a speed queen based on the warranty. I used the eco cycle for my first wash. I am a Registered Dietitian at a Hospital and I washed my lab coat and it came out so wrinkled I had to steam press it!

We recently upgraded to a Speed Queen top loading washer. It is simpler to operate than our old one that had and the bells and whistles, but the Speed Queen clean much better. The one washer kept building up a residue on the inside of the tub wall and washer wall. ThecSpeed Queen does not have this issue.

Does Not Clean Dirty Clothes!!!!

If you are a family that has kids, and your husband works in a farm, auto repair or any job that gets clothes dirty this is not the washer for you. I wish I would have purchased the TC5 where the lid doesn't lock. This machine just has your clothes floating in the water versus a regular agitation. I am now stuck with machine so please ask the right questions when trying to choose a model.

I liked the water level control features

One of the few machines that let you control the water level and other settings. The spin cycle on high sounds like a jet taking off. Luckily, there are slower spin cycles that are shorter and slower. It seems to work well, we have only had it six weeks. It was 3x the price I thought it should be, but it is very nice.

Have enjoyed not hearing it, when I do it is just a soft whirring when it spins. Clothes and towels are getting cleaner. I do use a second rinse when washing cloths (special selection area) because I need to rinse all the soap out.

Where do I begin to express my total satisfaction of this product. This machine delivers the goods. I paid as much for this washer as my first car and I've never been happier. It washed the load of clothes thoroughly with less laundry soap and in a shorter amount of time. My clothes have never looked better. New Machine - unbalanced load error is an issue.

Gives an unbalanced load error when washing towels. You will have to unplug the machine and completely start over to fix this. Other than that is overall great product and much better than the previous brand names that iPhone.

Best set I've owned but has a sqeal

We have had our washer and dryer set for about a month now. The clothes are coming out so much cleaner and in a fraction of the time. We are a family of 5 with a 2 year old and a 5 year old with night time accidents so we do A LOT of laundry. There is a loud squeak or squeal from the agitator inside the washer but everything works great and we just shut the laundry room door. Overall, I recommend speed queen.

My husband and I were ready for a washer and dryer that was going to last, and not require frequent servicing. In 15 years of marriage we have had 3 well-known brand washer and dryer sets that did not last and required relatively frequent servicing. We took a look at the Speed Queen washer and dryer, read the reviews, and decided to try. We LOVE our washer and dryer! We have had both pieces for 9 months with not a single problem. Both the washer and dryer were easy to learn to operate, the washer has never been off balance one time, and we love the options each piece gives us when doing our laundry. I have been underwhelmed by the quality in which it gets my clothes clean. I had re-read the User Guide twice, inquired online to help forums, changed detergent 3 times and still my clothes actually come out dirtier than when I put them in and washed them. I tried everything from soaking to pre wash. There are water marks and stains on my delicates. My sheets have comet stained too. I had only heard FABULOUS things about Speed Queen. I had a Whirlpool front-loader for 25 years and I wish they made my old model because it was the best! Here is an example of cleaning my Lulu workout gear with other gear. I turn them inside out, wash all like colors together on cold, I used liquid Tide for Coldwater this wash. When I took them out and hung them to dry. Once dry, I turned them back to inside in, and this is what was on them. This happens whether I washed them on cold or warm/cold. At first I thought it was the laundry pod so I stopped using the Tide pods and used the liquid. The stain mark does come out when I rub it with a sponge but this stain was not on them when I put them in the washing machine.

I didn't realize how dingy my linens and towels had gotten until I washed them for the first time in my Speed Queen. They came out whiter and brighter than they had been in SO LONG. I've revived towels I thought I would have to throw away because they had gotten so dingy and wouldn't shed the funky smell even after a long soak and bleach.

Lid Locking Frustration

The lid locking design is the most frustrating feature I have ever experienced on a washer - and this is my 3rd Speed Queen. It takes far too long at the end of the cycle (or when pausing) for the locks to release the lid. 20+ seconds is just ridiculous. I can't get excited about all the other features when I have to fight the locks every day. This drops the product from a "5" to a "3" just on it's own. Next time I'll go with the lower grade option. Very disappointed with this design.
